The active ingredient of Duromine is phentermine, which is widely used in other drugs aimed to reduce weight, like Duromine.

The special feature of Duromine is its prolonged effect provided by a resin which slows down the release of phentermine. The mechanism of action is based on influence on the central nervous system – Duromine makes it produce a large number of neurotransmitters known as catecholamines, and high levels of neurotransmitters suppress hunger and appetite.

Duromine is manufactured in the form of 15 mg, 30 mg and 40 mg capsules. Actually, Duromine is a prescription medication, but it may be bought in online stores. The capsule should be swallowed with a large amount of water in the morning, before breakfast or two hours after breakfast. That is because phentermine contained in the drug belongs to amphetamine group and may lead to insomnia.

It’s advised to consult your dietitian before taking Duromine because of many possible side effects and risk of habit forming. The most frequently met side effects are:

  • Insomnia;
  • Dryness of the mouth;

Since 2012, the food supplement Garcinia Cambogia has been actively advertised as an effective remedy for natural weight loss. It is made of a tropical citrus fruit grown in Indonesia which is quite delicious and healthy. The fruit itself doesn’t provide that weight loss effect, but its rind does.

Garcinia Cambogia rind contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which is at the root of weight loss effect of the supplement. It inhibits an enzyme required in the synthesis of fatty acids, thus, you body stops storing food as fats. Also, Garcinia Cambogia is claimed to reduce appetite as a result of brain chemical serotonin increase, but there are no pharmacological studies proving this.

Garcinia Cambogia is available for anyone as it’s considered to be just a diet supplement and is not controlled by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). There are various forms of it: you may buy it either as a pill (tablet or capsule) or as liquid. The recommended dose of Garcinia Cambogia is 1,500 mg per day. It is taken 30-60 minutes before each meal during the day (usually, three times a day).

It means that you should take 500 mg with water three times a day. It’s a bit more challenging with liquid form as it may vary in concentration, so you should discover how many drops is equal to 500 mg and take them three times a day before each meal under your tongue. And don’t forget to keep drops there for about a minute.

Although Garcinia Cambogia is just a supplement, it may have some side effects as well, and they are:

  • Dizziness;
  • Dry mouth;
  • Headache;
  • Diarrhea.

Which One is Safer for Your Health?

Duromine and Garcinia Cambogia are absolutely different remedies, apart from their common aim – to help people lose excess weight. It’s hard to judge which one of them is safer, as Duromine may cause more side effects and even addiction due to its chemical composition, but Garcinia Cambogia, being a supplement out of FDA control, hasn’t been studied enough. It should also be mentioned that Garcinia Cambogia may cause serious liver problems in some cases, and its effectiveness is doubtful.
